MESSAGE FROM DAN:
Im so excited and honored to be the Youth Minister of this ministry. I see God moving in mighty ways and I look forward to seeing what God will do next. We are a thriving Teen Ministry that is dedicated to spiritual growth, proclaiming His Message, being active and finding opportunities to reach out and serve others. I would love to have the chance to meet you personally and I would be honored to know that I could assist in your Spiritual growth. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at dclemens@greenwoodchurch.com. Maybe I will even share my IBC Rootbear with you!
Living For Jesus,
Dan
May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
MISSION OF CSI:
Christians Seeking Intensity in Jesus Christ. Our CSI mission is to minister with true effectiveness the Message of love that Jesus Christ demonstrates.
CONNECT:
Is our active, unpredictable, super fun and spiritually challenging weekly Jr. & Sr. High youth outreach. The Message is clear, God loves each of us no matter who we are, what we look like or how we dress. We all belong and we all need a solid foundation!
Matthew 7:24, 25 tells us, Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the rock!
Life is full of distractions and through the enablement of God, our active Youth Ministry instills values, strengthens faith and encourages each youth to stay strong during the storms of their lives.
During a night of Connect, our teens are challenged to grow in their faith in several different ways. From a time of fellowship, to a time of worship through the leading of our Youth Praise Band and PRaise Team, to a time of Gods Word taught either by our awesome Youth Sponsors or by Dan.
SERVICE PROJECTS:
I Peter 4:10 tells us God has given each of you a gift. Use it to help each other. This will show Gods loving-favor. (New Life Version)
R.A.K. Random Acts of Kindness are monthly service projects that we as a Youth Ministry participate in. What RAK does is teach us all a true lesson in serving others not ourselves.
Service projects include, passing out free cans of Coca-Cola and bottles of water at the SARTA bus stop, raking leaves, retrieving shopping carts at the local Giant Eagle and our favorite, serving at the Open Door Food Shelter. This is a great time to build relationships while we help those in need.
CSI OUTINGS:
Ever month we have activities that we as a group participate in, from Laser Quest, to bowling, canoeing, to concerts and so on. At times we have had the entire youth group in my house for a get together. One month we do our very own rendition of FEAR FACTOR! It amazes me, some of the things our youth will do. As always, you just never know whats going to happen when you come and participate in this ministry, but you can count on it being a blast!
DISCIPLESHIP / IMPACT:
Spiritual depth is vital to a strong relationship with God. Our youth ministry offers several opportunities for spiritual growth. Two ways are our Discipleship Hour and IMPACT. Our Discipleship Hour is our Senior High Sunday School program where we go through the books Designed for Discipleship. We spend a significant time digging in the Word and learning what it takes to become an effective example of Jesus. IMPACT is offered in February and concludes in March. During this time the Jr. and Sr. High get a chance to go through the Youth Contagious Christian. This series is constructed with the idea of being contagious with your faith and addition to that, it also enhance your abilities to reach out to your friends and help them to bridge the gap between their lives and Jesus.
